Inclusion

What is inclusion?

Inclusion is about engendering a sense of community and belonging. We aim to encourage mainstream and special school pupils to come together to support one another.  As a school we aim to identify individual needs of pupils so that they can access enjoyable, engaging and stimulating learning experiences as part of their ‘rightful’ inclusion in other schools.  We also support the inclusion of pupils from other local schools to access aspects of ‘specialism’ within Pitcheroak.

If we achieve these aims it will help to enhance our pupils’ sense of purpose, self-esteem and confidence.  A truly inclusive community is fundamental to the success of a cohesive society and when a society upholds positive values, pupils will be able to contribute in a meaningful way for the greater good of all.
