Governor Profiles

Robin Lunn

Vice Chair of Governors – Term of Office (11.05.21 – 10.05.25) Elected by the Governing Body of Pitcheroak School

I have been a School Governor for nearly 16 years at Webheath Primary. I have had plenty of educational experience through my role as a County Councillor for 12 years and 17 years on the Church of England General Synod. This has given me vital insights into the running of schools both locally and as part of a wider strategic provision of education. One of my experiences was being involved in the conversion of a Local authority school to an Academy in the early days of the conversion (2011).

Michael Wright

Staff Governor – Term of Office (25.03.16 – 24.03.24) – 2nd Term; Elected by Staff of Pitcheroak School

I joined Pitcheroak in September 2013 where I have the responsibilities of Physical Education and Swimming Co-ordinator. Having completed my BSc (Hons) degree in Physical Education and Sports Coaching Science and PGCE in Secondary PE I taught in mainstream for 2 years before joining Pitcheroak. I have completed a masters degree in education and this has enabled me to further enhance my theoretical knowledge and transfer this into a practical setting to ensure pupils are provided with the best possible chances and opportunities to succeed in PE. I am married to Amie, a junior sister at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and we have two daughters.

Joshua McNamee

Chair of Governors – Term of Office (02.11.2020 – 01.11.2024) – VICE CHAIR OF GOVERNING BODY; Elected by the Governing Body of Pitcheroak School

I am currently working in genetics for Birmingham Women’s Hospital. While working in the laboratory I have been involved in STEM engagement and outreach working with Health Education England, schools, careers fairs and I am currently an NHS ambassador. Having a firm belief that there should be no barriers for anyone to reach their potential, I was keen to help children in the community reach theirs. Having seen the great work Pitcheroak carries out I am grateful to help continue this, and assist the school. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and exploring the outdoors .

Emma Hockley

Parent Governor – Term of Office (08.11.22 – 07.11.26) – elected by the parents/ carers of Pitcheroak school

I live in Redditch (Where I also grew up) with my husband Craig. I am a very proud mum to Lincoln who attends Pitcheroak school and Ryan who attends a mainstream setting. I am a qualified commercial accountant currently employed as a Senior Finance Business Partner at NFU Mutual and my previous role was a financial controller within the print industry. This will be my first experience of being a school governor or having any active role within a school setting and I am excited to be a part of such a fabulous and important school community. As a Pitcheroak mum I understand the importance of our school being a safe, consistent, and inclusive environment for our children and I hope that my personal experience coupled with my commercial experience will bring a balanced outlook to the role.

Julie Hick

CO-OPTED Governor – Term of Office (20.11.20 – 19.11.24) Elected by the Governors of Pitcheroak School

I have worked in the NHS for 32 years as a Paediatric Nurse and Health Visitor. The last 20 years have been as a Health Visitor and so I have a very sound knowledge of child health and development, public health, safeguarding children and also the real struggles that many families face in today’s society. I believe that these skills will be beneficial for a parent governor, and would also assist the board of governors in decision making and taking an active lead in the direction of the school. I am empathetic and non-judgmental and want to see all children have the opportunity to reach their potential through education and extra curricular activities which is why I would like to be a parent governor for Pitcheroak School. My daughter has been at Pitcheroak for 6 years and is very happy there. She arrived from a mainstream school where she had struggled for a couple of years with the academic work and also friendships. She settled into the nurturing environment of Pitcheroak and thrived very quickly and has made some great friends. Her academic abilities and her personal and social skills have come a long way thanks to the dedication of the teaching staff and I believe a well-run school is so important to give our children the best start they can have. I am looking forward to getting to know and support the staff, other governors and other parents and doing the very best for Pitcheroak School.
