Family Support
At Pitcheroak we work with an Education Welfare Support Officer, Carol Skinner. There are many areas of family life that we can help with such as advice on education, health, well-being, social development, behaviour management and relationships. WCC have produced a handy leaflet ‘WCC Family Support Leaflet’ that outlines all of the areas of support that they can offer. This can be accessed below.
Family Support can offer a programme called ‘Stepping Stones’ which is a course for parents and carers that focusses on giving advice and support on encouraging desirable behaviour, developing a positive relationship with your child and managing misbehaviour. Issues such as dealing with difficult behaviour, teaching new skills and communication are looked at and practical strategies are taught.
We don’t have an allocated Family Support worker but we do work closely with Worcestershire Children First in order to identify appropriate packages of support for families when required.
